We pick up our story with Abby getting me another plum from the fridge…
In great exuberance Abby jerked the refrigerator door open. The rail of the top shelf gave way, and in a great crash heard around the house, the pickle relish and a $25 bottle of colloidal silver fell from it’s high perch onto the floor below.
Shattering.
Now let me pause here to share that while I don’t like messes, especially play dough and paint, I absolutely abhor the mess of broken glass. And need I remind you that my day is full…you know…no time for messes full? And on top of that it was also the time of month when my emotions are as taught as they can get without snapping. So you can imagine my horror as I’m watching the jars falling and…
…SHATTERING!
All over the kitchen floor.
All over the open fridge.
Expensive colloidal silver quickly forming a river under the island and through out the kitchen. Slimy chartreuse pickle relish plastered to jars and shelves.
As if the world came to a sudden stop my body froze. My gut desire was to blame someone for this huge mess – Abby for opening the fridge to quickly, Justin for not fixing the shelf – but the Holy Spirit whispered into my thoughts: “Mandy, God is in control of all things. He could have stopped this mess, but for His glory He allowed it. Now bring Glory to your Savior by trusting…by remaining calm.”
I sucked in a big breath and…
